H1N1 Information
Information about seasonal flu, H1N1, and the vaccinations for both, are changing frequently. In order to provide you with the most up-to-date information, we encourage you to go to the web site of the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health Unit at www.wdghu.org
Due to a vaccine delay, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care announced that only people at high risk of developing complications from the virus will get an H1N1 shot this week (November 2 to 6).
You can get an H1N1 shot only if you are in one of these priority groups:
- Less than 65 years of age and have a chronic health condition
- Pregnant
- Child six months to less than five years of age
- Health-care worker
- Caregiver of infant(s) under six months old or caregiver of people at high risk who can't get the H1N1 vaccine
- Or less than 65 in a high risk group with a serious chronic illness ie lung disease – can check website
If you are not in a priority group, make an appointment when we can offer the vaccine to non-priority groups. We are following direction from the Ministry. All people attending our H1N1 clinics can receive a seasonal flu shot.
